My eight-year-old sons have enjoyed all of Daniel's classes, as they've learned many of the fundamentals of drawing (they've been taking 2-3 of his classes a week for more than a year!) but the format of this class really brings out their creative juices. Daniel expertly manages the group to make sure it's informative and instructive, yet fun and relaxed. He's built a real community of kids who love learning and cheering each other on while they learn how to draw the things they love.

It’s not just a social art “club.” The teacher actually teaches detailed drawing techniques for cartoon/comic creature characters. And the students have plenty of opportunity to apply the skills to their own creations in class, as well as share their art. My child has started a nice little sketchbook of drawing skills from this class that she can refer to as she creates comics on her own at home.

About Me

I'm a husband, father, foster parent, artist, and licensed teacher with a Master's Degree in Education. I've taught in public and private schools for 13 years in North Carolina, New York City, Uganda, and Tennessee. My current obsession is joining my endlessly curious one-year-old daughter as she explores all the things in our big, strange world, such as sand, water, mountains, snow, animals, messy foods, crayons, and books.
